1962 Porsche 356B S90 Twin Grill Roadster body by D’letern...
Discovered in lower Alabama as a collection of related parts, this highly desirable Porsche underwent a complete VMR renewal. Restored in period correct blue exterior and grey interior, this twin grill roadster represents one of the best examples of the rare Belgium bodied cars for which Porsche contracted its production in 1962. It also marks the end of the 356 roadster era. This restoration epitomizes VMR’s reputation for exactness and quality. Just ask the owner who drives and enjoys this tribute to Porsche’s past glory.
1931 Packard Model 833 Convertible Coupe...
About a year ago, a family from Tennessee packed up all the parts related of a 1931 Packard 833 Convertible Coupe which had been in their family since new and delivered the remains to VMR. It seems that a nephew now 86 years old recalls how the car was purchased new in Nebraska, driven some 70,000 miles over the years and then put up for storage. Now retired, another family nephew is bringing the car back to life and retained VMR to do the restoration. What showed up in boxes at VMR was an array of parts for what must have been a wonderful car for this close family of cousins. Interestingly enough, this Packard is essentially complete and mostly original. VMR is charged with bringing the car back to life so that the cousins can drive it around Lookout Mountain just as they did in the days of their youth. It is anticipated that the restoration will be complete in June 2012.
1929 Stutz Biarritz 5 Passenger Sedan body by Weymann...
Damaged in storage by flood waters, pilfered by vandals, abandoned and rediscovered, VMR was chosen to reconstruct and renew this unique and very rare American classic known as the only remaining example of the Stutz Biarritz. From rebuilding its wooden frame, to fabricating missing parts, to sourcing and recovering its Zappon fabric exterior, this overhead cam, twin ignition eight cylinder sedan was nothing short of spectacular when it rolled out of VMR for the first time as a complete a vehicle in more than fifty years. Glitz and glamour limit the adjectives that describe the grander of this once prestigious automobile.
1965 Porsche 356C Coupe...
In the same family since new and always North Carolina registered, this coupe survived an entire family of ophthalmologists, father and son, snow and salt, college days for the younger, and today finds its way back onto the familiar roads of the Blue Ridge Parkway. VMR was selected after a careful interview process and completed the restoration to the owner’s exact specifications and preferences. It is just as it was new, no more, no less.
1936 Packard Twelve Roadster Body by Dietrich...
Just for failing to start on command, a Packard Twelve isn’t something to cast aside especially a Dietrich bodied roadster. Not a restoration project but rather one of solutions, VMR corrected a list of deficiencies to again recharge the vibrancy of this true American classic. The owner’s diverse collection is now maintained by VMR in its entirety.
